About Nearbyfeed

The core value of Nearbyfeed is to connect people with nearby information, people, places, brands or specials that interest them, at the right time at the right place in the real world.

More and more people use location-aware smartphones to discover what's interesting around them (e.g., what to do, where to go, who to meet), and people show interest when they like a photo, comment a post, follow a person, or check in at a place. If we associate every interest with the time and place when/where the interest is expressed, we have a temporal-spatial representation of people's interest graph in the real world.

By tapping into the power of people's 3D interest graph via our our patent-pending technologies, Nearbyfeed is able to:

1. Help people discover, share and connect with 'What's interesting around me', and encourage and reward people to show interest in the real world

  • Help people discover 'What's interesting around me' in the real world.
    • Explore nearby interesting information (e.g., photo, news, deal), places, people, specials, or footprints (e.g., message, like, comment, favorite, check in) left by their friends and themselves, screenshot .
    • Recommend relevant information, people, places or specials based on people's interest, location and social graph, screenshot .
    • Notify people of nearby specials, or digital footprints left by their friends or themselves in the physical world, when they are nearby, screenshot , for example,
      • Fans near the restaurant reviewed by a newspaper will receive a notification for the full review on newspaper's website, with the ability to unlock the special that may be associated with this review, screenshot
      • Nearby people will also be notified for specials near them, screenshot
      • In addition, if fans or nearby people engage (e.g., comment, like, check in) with this review or restaurant, both the engaged audiences or their friends will also be notified for the engagement when they are nearby, screenshot
  • Empower people to show geo-tagged interest (e.g., message, like, comment, favorite, follow, check in) with nearby people as well as friends on Nearbyfeed and Twitter or Facebook, screenshot .
  • Connect people with nearby information, people, places, brands or specials that interest them, screenshot .
  • Encourage and reward people to show interest, for example,
    • A newspaper can create and associate a Flash Like Special (e.g., coupon sponsored by a restaurant), at any time, with its review of this restaurant (or of a local attraction/event near this restaurant), to reward the first 100 people who like this sponsored review, and drive foot traffic to this restaurant, screenshot .
    • A fashion brand can create buzz and increase sales, by sponsoring a Group Like Special (e.g., discount, donation to a charity) when at least 200 people like the publisher's review of its product (or of a fashion show) and broadcast their likes to friends on Facebook or Twitter, screenshot .
    • A publisher can attract new audiences by rewarding a Newbie Follow Special (e.g., badge, sweepstakes, mp3 download) to its new followers, screenshot .
    • A retailer can promote its message, brand or store by rewarding a Group Comment Special (e.g., freebie, coupon, promo code) when at least 50 people comment it and broadcast their comments to Twitter or Facebook, screenshot .
    • A blogger or celebrity can associate new specials, at any time, with its message or photo that has become viral, in order to encourage and reward fans to engage, promote the specials sponsored by advertising partners, and monetize the influence of this viral message or photo.
    • Business can also use Nearbyfeed platform to create, manage and host specials for its message, brand or venue to be promoted, and share the link to the special (or link to the message, brand or venue with which the special is associated) with fans through Twitter/Facebook/Email/Webpage/Print, to not only turn traditional one way advertising or promotion into an interactive, measurable and social experience, and encourage and reward fans to engage, but also monetize their engagement and quantitatively measure the ROI (e.g., impression, how and when the special is unlocked or redeemed, by who, from where, what they like most, customer advocacy on Facebook/Twitter), screenshot .

2. Provide a platform for business to connect and engage with fans, monetize their engagement and quantitatively measure the ROI in the real world.

More and more people use location-aware smartphones to discover what to buy, where to go, or thing to do nearby. This for the first time makes it possible for business to break down the barrier between virtual and physical, and engage with their fans or nearby customers at any time at any place in the real world, even when they are not in front of TV or laptop.

Content publishers (e.g., newspaper, magazine, TV, blogger, celebrity) can use Nearbyfeed's free platform to not only connect and engage with fans or nearby people at the right time at the right place in the real world, but also monetize their engagement and quantitatively measure the ROI, via our patent-pending technologies (e.g., iphone screenshot, or webpage for content, a user, or a place):

1) Location-based social notification enables publisher to

  • Inspire fans or nearby people to engage with your content, brand or advertising in the real world, for example,
    • Fans near the restaurant reviewed by a publisher will receive a notification for the full review on publisher's website, with the ability to unlock the specials that may be associated with this review and redeem it offline at this restaurant, screenshot .
    • Nearby people will also be notified for your specials near them, screenshot .
  • Increase traffic, loyalty, word of mouth, and attract new audiences, by making the relevant content (that showcases your value or expertise, and resonates with your audiences) more widely available and easily discoverable at the relevant places in the real world ( how to ), for example,
    • Fans near the place where a publisher left footprint before (e.g., post a message, offer a special) will receive a notification. In addition, if fans or nearby people engage with publisher's content (e.g., like, comment), their friends will be notified immediately, and both the engaged audiences and their friends will also be notified for these engagement when they are nearby, screenshot .

2) Contextually relevant online-2-offline special empowers publisher to:

  • Encourage and reward fans or nearby people to engage with your content or advertising, and monetize their engagement, by providing an interactive, measurable, contextual and social advertising opportunity for your advertising partners to engage with the right customers in the real world and measure the ROI, for example:
    • A newspaper can create and associate a Flash Like Special (e.g., coupon sponsored by a restaurant), at any time, with its review of this restaurant (or of a local attraction/event near this restaurant), to reward the first 100 people who like this review, and drive foot traffic to this restaurant when people redeem the unlocked special offline, screenshot .
    • Publisher or advertising partner can also use Nearbyfeed platform to create, manage and host specials for the message, brand or product to be promoted, and share the link to the special (or link to the message, brand or product with which the specials are associated) with fans through Twitter/Facebook/Email/Webpage/Print, in order to not only drive the awareness of its campaign, and encourage and reward fans to engage, but also monetize their engagement and quantitatively measure the ROI (e.g., impression, how and when the special is unlocked or redeemed, by who, from where, what they like most, customer advocacy on Facebook/Twitter), screenshot.
  • Attract new audiences or encourage loyal ones, for example:
    • A TV channel can attract new audience by rewarding a Newbie Follow Special (e.g., a badge, freebie) to its new followers, screenshot .
    • A magazine can encourage loyalty by rewarding a Loyal Comment Special (e.g., a badge, sweepstakes) to loyal audiences who comment at least 3 times in 7 days, screenshot .
  • Encourage customer advocacy and viral marketing, for example:
    • A retailer can create buzz for its product or store, by sponsoring a Newbie Like Special (e.g., extra 20% discount) to reward people who not only like the publisher's review of its product or store, but also broadcast their likes to friends on Twitter and/or Facebook, screenshot .
    • A blogger or celebrity can associate new specials, at any time, with its message or photo that has become viral, in order to encourage and reward fans to engage, promote the specials sponsored by advertising partners, and monetize the influence of this viral message or photo.

3) Location-based real-time analytics

  • Quantitatively track and measure the ROI of marketing or advertising, and customer engagement (e.g., impression, click, like, comment, follow, check in, broadcast to Twitter/Facebook, unlock, redeem).
  • Learn more about fans or customers in their everyday life in the real world (e.g., who and where they are, when/where/how they engage with your content, brand or advertising, what content resonates most with your fans, what they like, where they frequent, demographics, social graph, customer advocacy on Facebook and Twitter, top advocates).
  • Identify relevant business opportunities.
